The Sault Tribe’s non-gaming, enterprise-based economy supports funding for Tribal membership services, providing revenue for health, education, social services, transportation and other tribal programs. The Sault Tribe EDC is helping to improve the business and financial climate for both tribal members and the 7 county service area region of the Upper Peninsula, creating livelihoods and careers that benefit families and communities.

Vision: The Sault Tribe EDC’s vision is to create a vibrant, self-sustaining tribal community.

Mission: The Sault Tribe EDC exists to enhance the economy and improve the quality of life for the members of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. We seek to accomplish our mission by providing sound business development investment, operations and infrastructure development, and by creating a strong business environment that enables the Sault Tribe to provide support as a regional economic development driver, utilizing tribal lands to provide a competitive foundation for Tribal member owned businesses to thrive.
